Luísa Todi Portrait Print
Uma Mezzo-Soprano portuguesa nas cortes europeias
07 October 2011

The Music Museum remembers this month the Portuguese lyric singer, Luísa Todi (1753-1833). In a period that marks her death 178 years ago, we couldn't forget this date and we have chosen as piece of the month a portrait made by Elisabeth-Luise Vigée-Le Brun, which was painted in one of the singer's stays in Paris.

The staves from the arias which Luísa Todi (1753-1833) sang were recovered by the project ''Os Músicos do Tejo''and found in an albun ''As Árias de Luísa Todi''. The musical direction of the project ''Os Músicos do Tejo'' is by Marco Magalhães, and the chosen Soprano was Joana Seara. One of them (''Se cerca, se dice'') is a composition by Antonio Sachinni (1731-1786) and can be enjoyed in this video that we present and whose content is not entirely the responsibiliy of the Museum.
